The protector made of 100% polyester, has polyurethane film on the back, and contains elastic straps to keep the protector firmly on the mattress.
Because of the membrane structure of the Emma Mattress Protector, the protector is highly breathable but still water repellent.
Due to the membrane polyester insert, it's not uncommon for the mattress protector to "crackle" 🦩during the first few nights. This crackling disappears automatically after a short time, making the friction by sleeping on the cover softer. To speed up this process, you can give the cover another go in the washing machine.
A mattress protector is a shield between your mattress and things that can shorten its lifespan. We'd consider it as a must-have item to increase the longevity of your mattress. It will protect your mattress from infestations, spills, allergens and to keep your mattress as clean as possible without washing it. So if you have a dog, a cat or you just tend to sweat, it's the perfect protection for your Emma mattress.
You can wash it up to 40°C in a washing machine. Be careful to never put it in hot water when washing it because it can damage the fabric. We'd recommend washing it only once a month, unless the protector is visually dirty and compromised. In case something spills or gets on it, it would be ideal to clean the protector before anything spreads to the mattress. Don't dry clean or iron press it.
Compared to standard pads, our mattress protector is unique because it's not only covered with four corner rubbers around the mattress, but it's structured like a fitted sheet, so the fit is much more precise.
In addition, we've incorporated membranes into the cover itself. This means that the mattress cover is not only water repellent, but is also breathable at the same time. Most other mattress protectors use a continuous polyester cover, which cause sweat easily.
